| Costs
of making a will in Spain can vary, depending on the content. To give some
idea a simple will should cost in the region of €
120 including the Notary fee. The will has to be prepared and then signed
by a Notary. When attending the Notary for signature you will need to have
with you a valid passport and / or your Residencia.
You
are not under any obligation to make a will and if you have one in your
country of origin then you may feel happy with that. However, if you are
to own property here or have reasonable funds here then we would strongly
advise that you do so as things can become somewhat difficult for
surviving spouse / relatives regarding the property or bank situation. If
you are in the fortunate position of having valuable property or savings
in Spain then also seek advice when making your will, as there are many
ways in which to legally diminish any taxes, such as inheritance taxes
that may be subject to your particular circumstances. |
