Boat Purchases and Sales

Buying a boat is somewhat like buying a house. Each boat has a title deed and when a boat changes hands, there has to be a completion before a Notary. The escritura or title deed is then formally transferred to the new owner and thereafter registered in the maritime registry. In the event of purchasing a boat for commercial purposes then this can be a complicated exercise which should be done through a gestor who has experience in maritime matters. Even the social security system is distinct from normal land based businesses.
